Sebastian Till Braun

Sebastian T. Braun is a Professor of Economics at the University of Bayreuth where he holds the chair for Quantitative Economic History. Before joining the University of Bayreuth, he was an Associate Professor at the University of St Andrews and a Senior Researcher at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. He studied economics at Universität Hamburg, the University of St Andrews (BSc), and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (MSc, PhD).
Sebastian T. Braun works at the intersection of labour economics, international economics, and economic history. His main current research is on the economic effects of immigration and the evolution of intergenerational mobility, with a focus on Germany in the 19th and 20th century.

Sebastian T. Braun joined the IZA network as a Research Fellow in June 2019. He also works closely with IZA's local research team as an Associated Member.
