Ritam Chaurey is an Assistant Professor, at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
His research interests are in the fields of development economics with a focus on firm behavior, entrepreneurship, and labor markets in developing countries. Ritam has previously been an Assistant Professor of Economics, at the State University of New York at Binghamton. He has also served as a consultant to the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank. Ritam holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University. Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed an MA (Cantab.) from Cambridge University, and a B.A. (Hons) Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.

Ritam Chaurey joined IZA as a Reseach Affiliate in July 2018 and became a Research Fellow in December 2023.
