Senior lecturer of Economics at the College of Management Academic Studies. Adj. Professor of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. Formerly, Professor and Head of Graduate Studies, at ISET, Tbilisi State University.
Professor Asali holds a Ph.D. in economics from Columbia University; an MA in economics, and a BA in economics and accounting from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
He served as a visiting assistant professor at Union College, and an adj. assistant professor at New York University. His teaching and research interests include applied microeconomics, labor economics, econometrics, and time series econometrics.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in August 2014.
