Research Interests

Ryuichi Tanaka is Professor at Institute of Social Science in University of Tokyo. His previous appointments were Associate Professor at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo Institute of Technology, and Assistant Professor at Osaka University. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from New York University in 2004.
The main focus of his research is on education economics and labor economics. His research has been
published in leading academic journals such as Journal of Public Economics and Labour Economics.

Ryuichi Tanaka joined IZA as a Fellow in May 2018.
