Olga Malkova

Olga Malkova is an Assistant Professor in the department of Economics at the University of California, Irvine. She has completed her Ph.D. in economics at the University of Michigan in 2015.

Olga's research focuses on issues of labor economics and demography in the United States and the Soviet Union. Olga conducts research on effects of maternity benefits on childbearing, of family planning programs on children's economic outcomes, and of pension reform on labor supply and mortality.

Olga Malkova joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in November 2017 and became a Research Fellow in December 2023.
