Petri Böckerman is a professor of health economics at the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics and a research economist at the Labour Institute for Economic Research. He received his PhD from Helsinki School of Economics in 2003. He has published in journals, including American Journal of Health Economics, ILR Review, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Human Capital, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of the European Economic Association, and Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A. His research interests include the use of linked survey and register data in labour market analysis and sociogenomics.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in April 2013.
