Dave E. Marcotte

Dave Marcotte is Professor at the School of Public Affairs at American University. He is currently engaged in research on the following topics; the effect of mental illness and treatment on labor market and health outcomes; the impact of post-secondary education and learning on employment and earnings, and; the role of resources on student performance in primary and secondary education.

Marcotte received a BA in economics and political science from the University of North Carolina, an MA in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota, and his PhD in Public Policy from the University of Maryland. Marcotte is Affiliate Research Fellow at the Community College Research Center, Columbia University, and has recently been the American Education Research Association Fellow at the National Center for Education Statistics.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in August 2006.
