Ragnar Frisch Centre for Economic Research

Simen Markussen is Director and Senior Research Fellow at the Ragnar Frisch Centre for Economic Research in Oslo. He also affiliated with "Skatteforsk" Centre for Tax Research at NMBU. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Oslo (2010). His research interests include labor economics, education, social mobility, pensions and taxes.

Markussen’s research has been published in Journal of Labor Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Public Economics, Economic Journal, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Population Economics, Labour Economics, and other scientific journals.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in April 2024.
