Aline Bütikofer is a Professor at the Department of Economics at the Norwegian School of Economics. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Bern.

Aline’s work studies long-term effects of early investments in children, with a focus on identifying causal effects of policies such as infant health care, vaccination programs, school meals, and parental leave. In addition, her work analyzes the effect of medical innovations on productivity and human capital investment.

Aline Bütikofer joined IZA as a Research Fellow in October 2019.
