Maurizio Conti is Full Professor in Economic Policy at the Department of Economics, University of Genova.

He received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Essex in 2004 as well as an MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick in 2000.

His main research interests are in labour economics (where he has mostly done work on the effects of labour market institutions on firms’ behaviour), industrial economics (where he has focused on the economics of network industries), regional economics and policy evaluation.
His research has been published in various international journals including European Economic Review, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Labour Economics, Journal of Regional Science, Regional Science and Urban Economics and Journal of Law and Economics.

Maurizio Conti joined IZA as a Research Fellow in March 2022.
