Patrick Turner is an Assistant Research Professor of Economics in the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities (LEO) at the University of Notre Dame.

He received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado in 2018 and a B.S. in Business Administration from Saint Louis University in 2009.

His research focuses on the evaluation of anti-poverty and active labor market programs. At LEO, he partners with social service agencies and state and local governments to generate experimental evidence on what works in reducing poverty in the United States.

His work has been supported by grants from the Russell Sage Foundation, J-PAL North America, the TIAA Institute, and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, and his research has been published in leading journals including the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
