Sonkurt Şen is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bonn. His research focuses on understanding the causes of inequalities in educational settings and exploring the role of policies, interventions, and role models in mitigating these inequalities.
He received his PhD in Economics from the Institute for Social and Economic Research, University of Essex, in 2022. He also holds a Master’s degree in Applied Research in Economics and Business (Applied Economics Track) from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (2017) and dual Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Business Administration from Koc University, Istanbul (2016).
His current research interests include the Economics of Education and Behavioral Economics. In these fields, he collaborates with IZA's local research team as an Associated Member.
