Jamin Speer is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Memphis, where he was previously an Assistant Profesosr. He also worked as a Staff Economist for the White House Council of Economic Advisers in 2010-11. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University in 2014 and his B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University in 2007.

Jamin studies Labor Economics, Economics of Education, and Development Economics, with a focus on gender gaps in outcomes and the effects of skills.

Jamin Speer jointed IZA as a Research Fellow in September 2020.
