R. Jisung Park

R. Jisung Park is an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania, with appointments in the School of Social Policy and Practice (primary) and the Wharton School’s Department of Business Economics and Public Policy (secondary). I am also a research affiliate at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA), and a faculty affiliate of the California Policy Lab (CPL), the Wharton ESG Initiative, and the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy. Assistant Professor in the department of Public Policy at UCLA.
He received his PhD in economics at Harvard University, and Master’s degrees in Environmental Change and Management (MSc) and Development Economics (MSc) at Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
He is interested broadly in the interplay between the natural environment and human economic systems. He is particularly interested in the labor and human capital impacts of extreme heat, the process of climate adaptation, and the consequences of climate change for economic inequality.
Jisung Park joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in December 2020.
