Ayako Kondo

Ayako Kondo is Professor at Institute of Social Science, the University of Tokyo.

She received a Master in Economics at the University of Tokyo and a PhD in Economics at Columbia University. Her research interests lie in the areas of labor economics and public economics, and include topics such as long term effects of a recession at youth, evaluation of policies to promote elderly employment, and peer effects from neighbors. Her research has been published in Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Public Economics, and Journal of Population Economics, among others.

She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in November 2015.
