Franck Malherbet is a professor of economics at the Paris Graduate School of Economics, Statistics and Finance (ENSAE) and researcher at CREST (the joint research department from ENSAE and Ecole Polytechnique).

His current research centers on unemployment and labor market institutions, with a particular focus on employment protection legislation, dual labor markets, and minimum wage policies. He has published in the Economic Journal, International Economic Eeview, European Economic Review, Labour Economics, Journal of Public Economics and other journals.

He is the director of the MScT Data and Economics for Public Policy (ENSAE, Ecole Polytechnique and Telecom Paris) and a member of the French low pay commission (groupe d'experts sur le SMIC).

Franck Malherbet joined IZA as Research Fellow in September 2004.
