Sofia Karina Trommlerová

Sofia Karina Trommlerová is an applied economist who uses microeconometric methods to examine topics related to family, fertility, child health, and gender. While her current research focus is on family economics, population economics, and economic demography, she previously worked on development economics and human development. She is a co-founder of the first association for women in science in Slovakia – SAVIA.

Sofia received her PhD in 2016. Afterwards, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Erasmus University Rotterdam and Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Currently, she is an MSCA postdoctoral fellow at Comenius University Bratislava, in her home country Slovakia.

She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in April 2024.
