Giorgio Topa

Giorgio Topa currently works in the Microeconomic Studies Function at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. His primary research interests are in applied microeconomics, labor economics and applied econometrics. Dr. Topa's research has been focusing mainly on models of social interactions with empirical applications to unemployment, neighborhood effects and smoking; on the measurement of consumer expectations; on job search behavior; and on mismatch in the labor market. Prior to joining the New York Fed, Dr. Topa was an assistant professor at New York University. He holds a B.A. from Universita' di Venezia, Italy and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in March 2011.
