Berlin Lunchtime Meetings

A joint event series organized by

with support from the Anglo-German Foundation

In 2001, the Berlin Lunchtime Meetings were established upon a joint initiative by the London-based Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) and the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn. In 2009 the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) joined the organizing institutions. The meetings are generously supported by the Anglo-German Foundation and follow the long tradition of the successful CEPR Lunchtime Meetings, which have taken place in London, Paris, Brussels and other European cities since 1984. The participating institutes of the Berlin Lunchtime Meetings invite renowned economists from Germany and abroad to present recent research findings on economic and labor policy matters to a distinguished audience.

The Berlin Lunchtime Meetings are a forum for the exchange of ideas between academics, policymakers and business leaders. Responsibility for the presented findings rests with the speakers. Most meetings are conducted in English language. The events are organized and coordinated locally by DIW Berlin.
